VETEA’s subsidiary Australian Sports Academy was officially launched in 2009 with the aim of providing opportunities of sustained growth for elite athletes and existing or potential sports and recreation workforce participants.

6 Week Train the Trainers Coaching Education Certification Program for Swimming organised in collaboration with Swarnim Gujurat Sports University and Sports Authority of Gujurat 2016
SWARNIM GUJARAT SPORT UNIVERSITY, INDIA 2016
ASA coordinated and presented a course on High Performance Coaching with a swimming specialisation at the Swarnim Gujarat Sport Universities Sama Sports Complex. This program consisted of 25 swimming coaches undertaking a High Performance Swimming Camp that was conducted by Job van Duijnhoven from the New South Wales Institute of Sport.
Reece Norris conducted the theory and practical sessions that addressed; strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, psychology, team / athlete management, LTAD, talent ID, selection polices, select and use technology for sport, exercise science principles, coaching for special needs, injury prevention and coaching junior athletes. Robert Thompson shared his expert knowledge on sports, project, business and risk management.
IN 2015, ASA COORDINATED AND DELIVERED THE 6 WEEK “TRAIN THE TRAINERS” PROGRAM AT THE NETAJI SUBHAS NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SPORTS, PATIALA INDIA
This program consisted of 90 coaches and athletes, undertaking four programs:
- High Performance Sports Coaching (specialising in Swimming and Diving)
- Officiating in Swimming
- Pool Life Guard and Aquatic Technical Operations
During the program, thirty of India’s top swimmers participated in a High Performance program conducted by the Australian Age Swim Coach Dean Boxall, Marlee Barber conducted the diving program, John Keppie OAM shared his vast knowledge in swimming, officiating to 25 of India’s up and coming officials, Reece Norris conducted the theory and practical sessions that addressed; strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, psychology, team / athlete management, LTAD, talent ID, selection polices, exercise science principles, coaching for special needs and injury prevention. The Pool Life Guard and Aquatic Technical Operations was conducted by current world masters surf lifesaving champion Dr Paul Saffigna.
