TVET Creates Jobs

Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has grown significantly in both developed and developing countries.

TVET develops skills and knowledge for specific roles in each industry, from basic to advanced level technical skills, through formal, non-formal or informal learning. Outcomes may include award (full or partial) for recognised qualifications, non-award certification or professional development recognition.

TVET is the Future – From Job Seeker to Job Creator

TVET is recognised as a pathway to:

Many countries are redirecting policies toward TVET in recognition that higher level university education, while an important part of educational frameworks, has led to a growing supply of over-qualified, unemployable workers whose skills do not match those required by their industries. This has also created a skills shortage in more traditional trades and has endangered the general lowering of academic standards within university environments.

Australian Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are government approved and registered to deliver Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and Accredited Courses, however the role of RTOs does not stop there. AQF qualifications establish benchmarks for job roles but most organisations also need, or only need, specific sets of skills not qualifications. Industries, organisations and governments across the world invest in the professional development of their workforce through non-award courses, workshops, seminars and conferences.

Australia’s competency based TVET system is recognised and highly respected worldwide and is delivered via institutional pathways, in the workplace, online or blended (a combination of institution based and/or online and and/or the workplace).
